World Table Tennis Day 2026 was celebrated in fantastic style by Leyland Ping Pong Parkinson’s – Table Tennis Therapy, who organised a 12-hour charity table tennis marathon at St Andrew’s Church Hall in Leyland.
The event brought together 30 players, including eight people living with Parkinson’s, dementia or Alzheimer’s, who enjoyed a full day of table tennis, friendship and community spirit while raising money for two important charities.

By the end of the day, the group had raised more than £2,000, with all proceeds going to Parkinson’s UK and Dementia UK.
The event was made even more special by a visit from Table Tennis England President Jill Parker, who attended with Don Parker to support the players and celebrate their achievements.
Keith McIntosh, who organised the marathon, described it as a hugely enjoyable day and was delighted with the support received from everyone involved.
Everyone at Parkinson’s England Table Tennis (PETT) would like to congratulate Keith and the Leyland group on organising such a successful event. It is a wonderful example of how table tennis can bring people together, improve wellbeing and make a real difference within local communities.
Well done to everyone who took part and helped make the day such a success. 🏓💜
