Harlow Parkinson’s table tennis

More than just table tennis at BATTS!

Every week, people living with Parkinson’s come together at BATTS Table Tennis Club for much more than a game of table tennis. The sessions combine enjoyable time at the table with plenty of opportunities to chat, laugh and support one another, creating a friendly community where everyone feels welcome.

A typical 2 hour session includes a break for tea or coffee and biscuits, giving everyone the chance to catch up, share experiences and get to know new members. Beyond the weekly sessions, the friendships continue to grow, with the group enjoying a couple of celebrations together at the nearby Green Man pub. Many participants say these social occasions are just as valuable as the table tennis itself.

The welcoming atmosphere means that once people discover the group, they usually keep coming back. New friendships are formed, confidence grows, and members enjoy being part of a community that understands the challenges of living with Parkinson’s while focusing on what people can do rather than what they can’t.

The group is also fortunate to have access to the excellent facilities at BATTS Table Tennis Club. The spacious playing hall provides a fantastic environment for table tennis throughout the year, and the air conditioning has been especially appreciated during this summer’s warm weather, helping everyone stay comfortable while enjoying their time on and off the table.See details for Harlow Parkinson’s Table Tennis here.
